12th November 2006 - Memorial Sunday

The British war memorial remembrance Sunday is to commemorate service personnel who lost their lives in frontline battle.  It was an honour when I was asked to lay the wreath in Leyton coronation gardens un-behalf of the residents of Leyton. 



4th November 2006 - LABOUR DONATES PHONES

Grove Green councillor Anna Mbachu is calling on local people to donate their old, unwanted handsets to African countries. Anna orignates from Nigeria and said "This great initiative encourages people to pass on technology that can be used to help people communicate and get out of poverty.” Old working phones should be mailed to: FREEPOST Fonebak Vodafone Africa.

Barbara has won so many Honours & accolades: Winner: BFIIN/GWIIN Global Woman of Invention & Innovation Award 2005 (specially recognised for her work to promote women)
Winner: Best print media – EFBWBO Award 2003-4.
Finalist: London African Caribbean Enterprise Awards 2004.
Finalist: African Caribbean Positive Image Foundation (ACPIF) Award 2002.

Barbara is also the Publisher and Editor of LIVE Magazine the only multicultural listings publication in the UK that combines arts and business and the positive side of the youth. Barbara worked for The Journal Newspaper (sister paper to The Voice) and a correspondent on BEN Television.
This awesome publisher started her career in 1994 with The Voice; Barbara has been an inspiration to so many women across the board with her hard work and achievements. This single mother of two still finds time for children and her very busy career. Barbara is another proof that you can make it to the top as a single Mother if you stay focus and remain positive.

Operation black vote began in july 1996 as a collaboration between two organisations WWW.Charter88.com (which campaigns for democratic reform) and the 1990 Trust,the only national Black generic policy research and networking organisation, which uses information technology as a primary means of communication.
